From the Editor, Gary Anderson: When you lose a good friend, let's say a guy like Billy Pate -- the man who really fathered fishing for things like tarpon and sailfish on a fly rod -- it's a hard hit. Add a second friend -- a guy who had two Super Bowl rings on his still-beefy hands, and could handle a 125lb tarpon as well and as gently as he handled pigskins in the days -- and it makes for a hard week.
